You’re not who you think you are… at least not at this very moment. It’s important to change the way you look at yourself. Your self-image has become distorted through years of conditioning; similar to the image you see when you look into a carnival mirror. You’re not seeing what is actually there. You’re seeing the result of your past experiences and memories. You’re actuality a shadow of your past.
“If your memories or experiences of the past made you who you are now then your present memories and experiences are making you who you will be.”
You will create this “new you” through your corrected thought process. Here is an important truth that is vital to understand about your mind…
“The subconscious mind does not understand the difference between an imagined memory or a real one.”
They hold the same value and value. This is how you can create new memories to replace the old ones. Through the use of your imagination and repetition you can begin the reprogramming process of building the new you.
You are still that perfect being that you were at birth. Your blueprint has not been lost. You still have the ability to return yourself to that blueprint of health and happiness. The secret is to fill your mind with thoughts of what and how you want to be. Imagine yourself as the “goal you” on a constant basis and continue thinking that way until it happens.
Keep in mind another main features of the subconscious mind is that “thoughts do become things.” Whatever you focus on is always a creation in your mind whether it’s positive or negative. Combining this with my previous statement that the subconscious does not understand the difference between a real or imagined memory if you imagine yourself as being the exact person you want then that is exactly what you are becoming. However as soon as you begin to focus on a doubt and negativity you begin to change the direction of your new creation towards a new focus. This is why it is so important to be able to continue to focus on the positive goals that you decided upon especially when things become difficult or negative. I realize that those are the most difficult times to remain positive however they’re the reason most personal or business goals become derailed.
Think of your thought process as being a form of addiction. As we know with addictions such as alcoholism someone can be doing quite well for a very long time then suddenly take just one drink during a moment of despair or frustration and find themselves right back where they started. Your thought process works in a similar manner. You may be focusing on and moving towards a goal of wealth or success but then in a moment of doubt you begin to focus on the possibility of not attaining your goal or even giving up. Of course since your mind always takes you towards the focus of your thoughts you may find yourself right where you started all over again.
Therefore when you look at yourself in the mirror and don’t see the person that you feel you really are, realize that the thoughts you’re having right now are creating the person that you want to be. You will soon be able to look in the mirror and see a true reflection of the remarkable being that you really are.
