How to Stay Positive in a Negative World
By Rene A. Bastarache, CI
You’re here today because you want to be happy and you want to remain positive on a continual basis… You’ll learn how to accomplish this right now… and the way you’ll do this is by understanding how your mind works…
It’s very easy to remain positive throughout your entire day once you understand what your mind needs… And how to fill those needs at a moment’s notice…
Your mind is the vehicle that directs your life… The thoughts that you focus on continually become the direction that creates your reality…
If you fed your mind negative or fear you’d become negative or scared…
But if you feed it happiness you’d in turn become happy…
And that’s exactly what you’re going to do… Because you want to… and you know you’re worth it…
I want you to take a moment right now and think about the car that you drive to work in each day… Your car needs fuel in order to keep going… The higher grade fuel you put into its tank the better it runs… If you fail to refuel your vehicle it could run out of gas and break down…
Your mind works quite the same way… You must feed it positive fuel in order for it to be able to operate in a positive manner…
You can do this through reading enlightening books, listening to good music, watching television programs that make you laugh, meditating, spending time outdoors in the sunlight each day and playing with small children or animals.
Think about what makes you happy or uplifted… What can you do on a daily basis or probably even several times a day that can bring you up… Whatever it is for you… consider it your personal positive fuel…
As you go through your day if you find yourself feeling drained, down or easy to anger… realize that this is your mind’s way of telling you that you are running low on fuel… Before you get to the point of running low it is important to take the time to refuel…
As you get used to this process you’ll find yourself continually finding new ways that you can recharge yourself throughout your day…
It’s a process very similar to taking a cross-country drive in an automobile… Throughout your journey you’d be looking for places to refuel. You’d make this a priority because you realize how catastrophic your situation would be if you didn’t… You could find yourself broken down and stuck in the middle of nowhere…
It’s just as important to be looking for fuel stops for your mind each day… Can you carry a small pocket book of something you like to read with you such as jokes, inspirational sayings, poems or even a self-help book…? Is there someone you can call at a moment’s notice who makes you feel great…?
What will your next pit-stop be…? Keep looking for positives in your daily life and focus on them…This way even when negativity may occur you can replenish your energy and bring yourself back up to being fully fueled and feeling wonderful…
You now understand how to keep yourself positive… You now take 100% responsibility for making your own life happy… You realize that no one else can make you feel anything unless you allow them… You have the choice to react or to act when confronted with a situation… There’s no need to react to something negative when you can simply change your direction…
You are the driver of your own vehicle… and from now on you feed that vehicle only positive, uplifting thoughts…
You protect your positive attitude from damage by steering clear of obstacles in your path…
You find it easier to avoid negative situations or negative people…
You are now drawn to positive situations and positive people…
You are happy… Positive… And fully charged…
You now see how easy it is to stay this way… How great you feel now that you are in control…
