Learn the Most Effective Ways to Write Quality Hypnosis Depth Tests
In today’s video you’re going to learn what goes into creating an effective Hypnosis Depth Tests.
So of those of you who are following along, go get your notepads, have a seat relax and let’s get started…
This is video #3, of our 7 part hypnosis session writing program.
Just as a refresher; in these videos I’m going to show you how to write each part of a five part hypnosis session to make it as powerful and effective as possible.
Those of you that are following along are encouraged to write your own as you go each week and submit them to us for publishing on the final week.
Remember you can participate anytime between now and week 7. Just look at any past videos to get caught up… Start with video 1 which will give you all the instructions.
Once all the submitted videos are collected and reviewed we’ll publish all that made the cut in a pdf manual and send everyone who participated, a copy.
So let’s get started with lesson 3:
What is a Depth Test?
The only way to determine how relaxed your clients are after the induction is through conducting a depth test. If done properly they’re very effective and simple to conduct. Let me tell you about a few different ones to give you an idea of how they should work…
In a nut shell they can be as simple as saying; “On a scale from 1 to 10 with 10 being the deepest you can be relaxed… how relaxed would you say you are right now?
That’s a similar concept to this next one…
Before I get started… calling it a Depth TEST may not be the best word as you can’t fail it. It simply shows you how relaxed the client is and whether you should do a deepener or two or swap over to an analytical session if they aren’t relaxed at all…
On the other hand if the client is sooo relaxed that they’re at a 10 already or even too relaxed to move their lips to answer you then you may want to move right into the suggestion part of the session rather than doing a deepener.
Yardstick Depth Test
I would like you to use your imagination. Imagine a yardstick if you would … as you know a yardstick has numbers ranging from 1 to 36.
Imagine that the number one represent the least relaxed you could be … as if you were wide awake …. and the number 36 represents the deepest that you could be relaxed …
Between 1 and 36 there are many numbers … one of those numbers best represent exactly how relaxed you are at this present time … I’d like you to think about how relaxed you are right now, and about which numbers best represents that relaxed feeling …
In just a moment I will ask you to tell me which number it is that you’re relaxed at … So now remaining totally completely relaxed … tell me, what number are you relaxed at right now?
Magnetic Hand

I’d like you use your imagination right now, imagine that your (left or right) hand has an extremely powerful magnet connected to the back of it and I want you to imagine that I’m placing my hand about an inch above yours… and imagine that my hand also has a very powerful attracting magnet… As I lift my hand slowly away from yours you can feel the very powerful magnet pulling your hand up off of the chair.
You can feel the magnet, pulling your hand up, up, up. You can feel the lightness, starting in your fingers as they start to rise and it moves into your hand as it gets lighter and lighter and rises from the chair. Feel the magnetic pull, pulling your hand up, up, up. Feel your hand and allow it to raise up off of the chair and rise higher and higher in the air. (continue this way until their hand is in the air.)
Now on the count of three I am going to lightly touch the back of your hand and as soon as I do the magnetic pull will be gone and your hand will drop back down to the chair very heavily and you will drop into a very deep relaxed state, even twice as deep as you are right now. One … two … and three (touch) Allow yourself to go deeper and just relax.
You’ll have to use your own judgement on these but if you feel they’re relaxed enough simply do your deepener and continue with the rest of the session.
Why are these important? Even though the lighter levels of hypnosis are sufficient for most purposes, there are times you’ll have to take the deeper for more advanced sessions such as…
Theta level for:
- Dealing with traumatic events
- PTSD
- Painless Childbirth
- Even causing hallucinations
Or even deeper to Delta for:
- Accelerated Healing
- deep anesthesia
- Lowering blood pressure and heart rate
- And even to release (HGH human growth hormone) which deals with wrinkles, sagging skin and muscle tone
Time to make my own:
I want you to imagine a big clock on a wall.
It is a simple Black and White clock with very large numbers on it.
This clock has only the numbers 1 to 5 written on it with big spaces in between. Imagine that in a few moments the needle of the clock will start to move from 1 to 5.
As it does you can think about how relaxed you are at that moment… and as you allow the needle to move it will eventually stop at the number that best represents how relaxed you are at that time…
So let’s begin right now…
Think about how relaxed you are right now… and as the needle moves it will eventually stop at the number that best represents how relaxed you are… Imagine that needle moving from one number to another and then it stops … tell me at which number did it stop at?
Now it’s your turn to create one…
Think of how you want to do it?
- Something with just; choose a depth from 1 – 10 or more… or even
- Something where you’re moving your hand or fingers?
- … Be creative and see what you come up with …
Once you’re done, try it with someone you know but do your Induction you created in the last lesson first so they can get relaxed before seeing what level they’re at… Once you’ve done that let me know how your volunteer did in the comments below… We’ll all be interested in knowing…
